Canned tomatoes
The edible parts of tomatoes is canned, and product is preserved as acidified food with a pH level lower than 4.5, and a proper heat treatement to reach a commercialy sterile with a self life of three years.
The canned tomatoes without steam neither peel are packed in different styles:
- Whole tomatoes.
- Diced tomatoes.
- Crused tomatoes.
- Tomato pure.
Depending of packing media and ingredients, the canned tomatoes are canned in differents presentations:
- In tomato juice, with sieved tomato pure and citric acid to reduce the pH level bellow 4.5.
- Tomato sauce is a mix of oil, salt, spices and citric citric to reduce pH level bellow 4.5.
