Canned mandarin oranges

The canned mandarin consisting of mandarin oranges segments preserved as acid food with a pH bellow 3.6, and a proper heat treatement to reach a commercialy sterile product with a self live of three years after packing.

Once not edible parts of mandarin oranges has been removed, the mandarin orange segments are packed in different styles:

  • Whole segments.
  • Twin segments.
  • Broken segments.

The canned mandarin orange segments, depending of packing media are packing in the following presentations:

  • Light syrup consisting of syrup 14º a 17º brix range.
  • Water. The product is preserved just in water without other additives.
  • Juice. The product is preserved en orange juice or pear juice with more than 10º brix.

Seasons

The canned mandarins are packed through two seasons: Satsuma variety middle october through middle of january and Clementina variety january through end of february.
